Hello Friends! Today, I would like to share my living experience in Canada. I never thought that I would ever travel abroad, but I travelled to two countries, New Zealand and Canada, but here I will only share my Canadian experience with you. I will also share the experience of New Zealand in the upcoming blog. If you get a chance to go abroad, then friends and relatives think that their life has settled. But in reality, it does not happen, hard work and effort have to be done everywhere.
First of all, I would like to tell you how we came to Canada. My husband, who is a software engineer in IBM, got the opportunity to go abroad with family. That time my daughter was born, hence we could not understand whether to go or not. We discussed with our friends, relatives. Most of them said that when the opportunity has come to you, you should grab should grab it.
Anyway, my husband is very fond of travelling, so he just got the strength to go abroad. Even though, he had already visited two countries Sweden, New Zealand. But still he wanted to go abroad just for his princess daughter, because he wanted to give her new environment to make our life more beautiful. As I said my daughter was a few months old at that time, so we had no idea how to do long air travel with a little girl. My husband collated all the information from the air travel agency. After that, things became little easy to manage.
On 11th October, 2016; it was early morning and we were ready to fly out from Bengaluru. While leaving house, we were only three person, me, my husband and my daughter. Just from here Our journey started.
Journey of Canada |
We landed at Edmonton Airport on 12th October. Everything was totally different, specially I found myself in a new world. A lady who was representative of IBM and was on the service, picked us from the airport.
She welcomed us very well, she was a nice Canadian lady, picked up all our luggage, put it in her car and drove us by herself to our service apartment. It was very beautiful and well equipped with all the necessary accessories. Our daughter's room was also well prepared. As if, it was dreaming with open eyes.
We were in Alberta Province of Canada. We had heard that Alberta's Health Care is considered best, we were also provided health cards. Which covers expenses like doctor visits, surgery, tests, hospital stay etc.
We had just reached Alberta, and in couple of days when I was busy with my daughter with morning routine, I got a call from my hubby who was yet to reach the office. He excitedly said. Dear! did you see snow falling?
First snow |
As soon as, I looked out through the window ,I was astonished to see the beautiful snow falling in the blooming sun, it seemed as if the beauty of nature had spread all over the ground .Which was a very beautiful sight, it cannot be described in words. Because nature could be seen and felt. For a moment ,I felt, all nature may come in my fist. It was our first experience here.
Parking area |
The temperature goes down till -40 degrees here. Here all the houses and apartments have an automated heater which maintains the house temperature irrespective of the outside temperature. With new experience, our time was passing happily.
While staying in a service apartment, we started looking for our new home. Soon we got a beautiful condo with all the basic amenities. It had Washing Machine, Dryer, Dishwasher, Oven, Microwave, freezer etc. The rest of the things we bought by ourselves. Now our house had all required things. It was ready to live in now.
West Edmonton Mall |
One day we went to "West Edmonton mall” which is famous and biggest mall of Canada. It was Xmas month and whole city was decorated with beautiful and colorful lights. We also bought Christmas dress, tree, decorative items, so that we also can enjoy this new festival.
First Christmas in Edmonton |
I made 1st Christmas card for my daughter, which I shared here. In this picture you can see, how was our first Christmas in Edmonton. It was amazing.
First birthday of my daughter |
We celebrated Harshika's first birthday on 5th June 2017 at home, as she was small, it was not appropriate to go out of the house to celebrate her birthday. The house was decorated with blue pink ,white balloons. There was a Cinderella theme cake. All friends invited. Veg and non-vegetarian food had been served. Cake cutting, photo session, dinner were amazing. In the end return gift also given to kids. All over birthday event was wonderful.
