Rent is per week not per month
The rental prices for apartments are typically listed on a weekly basis rather than on a monthly basis. It is a confusing but interesting phenomenon which somehow makes the living cost extremely high.

Wellington is the windy capital
It has a nickname, called “Windy Wellington.” The best weather in Wellington is during October to April, when average temperatures are between 17°C and 21°C.
Earthquakes
The earth's tectonic plates are in constant motion, albeit at a gradual pace. However, they encounter resistance at their boundaries due to friction. When the force exerted on these edges surpasses the frictional resistance, it results in an earthquake. This seismic event releases energy in the form of waves, which traverse through the earth's crust, leading to the shaking sensation that we perceive. When I was living here, there was a sudden earthquake. Initially I thought it was a strong wind, however, the next moment the building started shaking and I felt as if I am unable to think what to do next?
Driving
Driving on the left is fun, until you get to a roundabout, then it is terrifying.

Sports
Rugby holds the top spot as the most beloved sport in this nation. Additionally, cricket and netball enjoy considerable popularity across the country. New Zealand takes great pride in its formidable cricket team, consistently recognized as one of the strongest in the world. Similarly, the women's netball team showcases exceptional strength and skill, contributing to their prominent standing in the sport. We enjoyed every moment while living in Wellington City. Whenever we did not want to go out on the weekend, we would spend time watching movies at home.

Cricket Match in Westpac Stadium
We had the experience of watching live cricket matches twice at Westpac stadium. One was between the New Zealand and West Indies teams, the other was between the New Zealand and Indian team. New Zealand won both the matches.
One of the best things, I observed that people are nature loving and would not get attracted to a materialistic world. "No one cares what kind of car you drive or how big your house is or what clothes you wear. It is just a more humanistic culture, and people take you at face value, and not with pretenses.
I just wrote here what I felt. Your own experience may be something else.
