Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand. Renowned as the epicenter of gastronomic delights, this city holds the title of culinary capital. It boasts hidden bars, charming cafes, acclaimed eateries, and an exceptional coffee culture. I still remember, on 29 Nov, 2012, when I reached home at 4 in the evening. One of my hubby friend was sharing the home until I reach. He moved to the new house the same day. I was tired of traveling, Hubby left me at home and went to office. Although he did not want to go to office, he went as he had to wind up some urgent thing, but in few hours he came back home. After a long time we were together. Next morning we went outside for shopping, where our friends had come to meet us. Once greeting is done, they looked at my hubby and said to him. Oi Ohey, Pankaj's face is glowing-glowing. Hearing this we all started laughing together .
We lived in place called “The Terrace” which is located in the heart of the city. My hubby's office was next to the Parliament and it was at walkable distance from our new home. Botanical Garden, Lambton quay which is famous for shopping stores were just a few minutes away. When I saw the city, I was also fascinated to see its beauty.
Meanwhile, on 4th December 2012, the day of our first wedding anniversary came. My hubby was eagerly waiting for this day, and the day had come. Few of our dear friends Kavya, Kalyan, Sameer surprised us by cutting the cake. We all had dinner at the Little India restaurant which was located in Cuba Street. They made this day even more memorable, We still remember that day.
December in New Zealand is the summer season, which brings long, bright and sunny days and temperatures are of 16°C to 24°C. They’re ideal for visiting the lovely beaches or enjoying many outdoor activities, such as hiking and mountain biking. So how could we stay behind!
Fun time |
There were many other touring places, which were near to our home and walkable to visit, such as “Botanic Garden”, “Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa”, Parliament etc. Te Papa is a national museum, located in Wellington. The Botanic Garden is famous for specialized plant collections. We had gone once inside the Parliament building and have seen the debating chamber, speaker's office, visitors' center, and committee rooms. We had a great time visiting this place where all ministers and members could debate and discuss on various law making bill .
I loved to go to the Library as
well. Actually, it had become a daily routine for me to go to the
library . I've never seen before such a well organized library. Moreover, they provide different kind of facilities as well. Such as :
- book returning, browsing and borrowing is available
- if you wish to return your books but not enter the building you can do this by leaving your books on a returns trolley at the entrance
- free WIFI
- photocopying
Everything was going well. Although my husband used to leave
no stone unturned to give maximum time to me along with giving time in the
office, so that I do not get bored. He always tried to maintain a good work life balance.
But once he goes out for the office, a strange thought started to come in my
mind that what am I doing at home? I started feeling like doing something. One
day after sending Hubby to the office, I went out for a walk. I saw a parlor and
entered inside to enquire about the details. Seeing me, the parlor's owner
came to me and asked few questions. While conversing with me, when she got to
know that I also have a knowledge and experience of parlor work. She offered
me a job which I accepted it. This is how
I got a chance to work in a new country.
