Personal Experience of A Journey of Self-Discovery, Confidence, and Beating Impostor Syndrome

Introduction:

Come with me on a journey where I'll share the little things that made me feel more confident. Before I got married, I did different jobs in Delhi – I taught in a school and at home. I also liked stitching, making different designs for suits, salwars, blouses, and more. I even worked in a beauty parlour because I enjoyed it, not just for money.

These experiences were like small steps that helped me become who I am today. Teaching let me connect with others, stitching let me be creative, and the beauty parlour job was just fun. Stick around, and I'll tell you all about how each of these little victories added up to make me more confident.
After marriage, life took a turn as I moved to a foreign country. Despite being in a new place, my love for beauty parlour work continued, and tutoring became a new venture. Returning to India, I dedicated four years entirely to motherhood. Adventures continued when, with my daughter just a few months old. I accompanied my husband, who works in IT, to Canada. In July 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we returned to India, my daughter now four.

Excited to find meaning and purpose, I began selling things online, which made me happy because I felt productive. After a while, I got into blogging, and it got even better when Google AdSense approved my blog. Wanting to try more, I started selling homemade chaat, but it took up too much time, so I had to stop. Juggling my interests and being a mom became really important, so I took a break.

In this article, I told you all about my journey – not just to talk about what I've done, but to help you understand how I faced challenges and became more confident. Every little thing I did, whether it was teaching or trying out my own business ideas, helped me grow. It's like collecting tiny victories that add up to make a big difference. The key, I found, is to grab every opportunity that comes your way – each one is a step towards feeling more sure of yourself. So, let's dive into the details of how these small steps made a big impact on my journey to self-assurance.

👉What is Impostor Syndrome?

Ever had the thought that maybe you're not as good as people think you are?  That's impostor syndrome, and many people deal with it. But guess what? You're awesome, and it's time to feel that way! This article will explore impostor syndrome, its signs, why it happens, and, most importantly, how to kick it to the curb and feel confident.

👉Understanding Impostor Syndrome:

1.Know the Signs:

Feeling not good enough? That's impostor syndrome. It's doubting achievements and worrying others will see you as less capable. Knowing these feelings is the first thing you do to beat them.

2.Everybody Makes Mistakes:

Everyone messes up sometimes. Instead of beating yourself up, see mistakes as chances to learn and grow. You're not alone; it's part of being human.

👉Building Confidence:

1.Celebrate Your Wins:

Pat yourself on the back for achievements, big or small. Keeping a list of wins reminds you that you've got what it takes.

2.Write it Down:

Maintain a journal where you jot down the good stuff. Did someone compliment you? Finish a project? Write it down – your personal cheerleader boosting confidence.

3.Speak Positively to Yourself:

Swap negative thoughts with positive ones. Tell yourself you're good at what you do, remembering your unique strengths. The more you say it, the more you'll believe it.

👉Developing a Growth Mindset:

1.Face Challenges Head-On:

Challenges are opportunities in disguise. Take them on instead of running away. This growth mindset helps you learn and improve, no matter how tough the task.

2.Ask for Feedback:

Don't fear feedback; ask for it! It's a map showing you where to improve, a positive tool for getting better.

👉Connecting with Others:

1.Find Supportive Friends:

Hang out with people who cheer you on. Supportive friends boost confidence. Share worries and learn from each other.

2.Tell Your Story:

You're not alone in feeling this way. Share your impostor syndrome story. Many have been through the same – building a team to tackle self-doubt together.

👉Conclusion:

Impostor syndrome might try to bring you down, but you're stronger than you think. Celebrate your wins, embrace challenges, and surround yourself with positive vibes. Kick that impostor feeling to the curb and shine bright in everything you do. You got this! In conclusion, I invite you to reflect on your own journey and celebrate the small victories that shape your confidence.
