To My Sweet Angel, Harshika 💖
Happy 9th Birthday, my darling girl! 🎉
It feels like just yesterday you were learning to ride your little bicycle, and now you’re turning 9 — so full of joy, curiosity, and kindness. Watching you grow into a beautiful, thoughtful, and strong young girl has been the greatest gift of my life.
🌸 A Year of Strength and Courage
This year, you’ve blossomed in so many ways. You’ve become more confident, more caring, and so wonderfully curious about the world. Whether it’s your creative ideas, your gentle heart, or the way you make us laugh with your sweet and silly jokes — you continue to brighten our days in every possible way.
But the moment that truly showed your strength was during your Annual Sports Day. You had been selected for marching, group dance, and the relay race — but just before the event, you caught a bad cold and fever. You missed practices, yet your teacher kept your name, believing in you.
On the morning of the event, we asked you to rest. But you stood up and said:
If I don’t go, my team will lose. Teacher said absence means defeat.
Even while coughing, you participated with all your heart. Your team didn’t win first, but they came second — all because you didn’t give up. You felt a little sad, but to us — you were the champion.
That evening, we took you to the doctor. Slowly, you got better.
🌟 From Recovery to Academic Excellence
Just after recovering, you sat for your annual exams and did wonderfully well. Your teachers had such kind words for you:
Class Teacher:
“Harshika is an enthusiastic and engaged learner who brings creativity and leadership to class. She actively explores new ways of learning and consistently shows a positive attitude.”
Reading these words made us so proud. You’re growing not just in knowledge — but in heart, courage, and character.
🛹 A Wave of Determination
Another proud moment was when you taught yourself wave boarding — all by watching YouTube! You saw your friends doing it and got determined to learn. I still remember your excitement at Decathlon as we picked your wave board. A kind staff member helped you choose the right one and even gave you tips.
But it wasn’t easy. After a few tough tries, you whispered to me:
Mama, let’s return this… but don’t tell Daddy. 😄
When Daddy heard, he smiled and said:
Try for a few more days. If it still feels difficult, we’ll think about it.
And try you did. You practiced again and again, watched videos, asked me to guide you. And then one day — you nailed it! You ran to Daddy and said:
I can do my wave board now. Mama helped me!
That moment was magical. It showed us your perseverance and your spirit to never give up.
🎉 Celebrating in New Zealand: A Birthday to Remember
This year is extra special because we’re celebrating your birthday in New Zealand! Though your school friends aren’t with you this time, we’re making new and unforgettable memories together.
You’ve already visited beautiful places like Mission Bay, Harbour Auckland, and Silo Park — and so many more adventures are waiting.
One person who made this trip even more fun is Nidhi, your daddy’s colleague. She moved from Bengaluru to New Zealand just six months ago and joined us for several outings. You bonded so beautifully with her — like a friend!
We also visited Manish Uncle’s family — his wife Namrata Aunty and their daughter Anahita, who is in 8th standard. You had such fun riding her scooter, laughing together, and playing LEGO.
Afterward, you came to me with a big glowing smile and said:
Mama, I added Anahita to my friend list — along with Nidhi!
Your joy, your ability to connect, and your warm heart made this trip so meaningful.
Unforgettable Moments: How New Friends Made Your Birthday Magical
Even though we were far from home, we celebrated your birthday in our own simple and special way. We cut a cake at home with just us — and of course, dear Nidhi was there too. It wasn’t a big party, but you were glowing with happiness the whole day. You replied to each birthday message with so much excitement and love, full of energy and joy from morning till night. Just seeing that spark in your eyes made everything feel magical.
The next evening, we were touched again by the kindness around us. Kasturi Aunty, who works with your Daddy, invited us for a dinner celebration at her home. She also invited Manish Uncle’s family, Terry, and Nidhi. When we arrived, everyone welcomed us so warmly. Terry brought a homemade cheesecake just for you — it was so delicious! Others brought tasty snacks and thoughtful dishes, and Kasturi Auntie had prepared a full dinner with vegetable biryani, black-eyed dal, plain rice, and so much more.
And then — another cake, another birthday song. As you stood there with surprise in your eyes and your hands shyly tucked together, we could see how moved you were. You didn’t even know how to thank them all.
And then came the sweetest surprises — Om, Kasturi Aunty’s son, gave you a beautiful book as a gift. He stayed quiet the whole time, just shyly smiling, but that small gesture said so much. Anahita, your new big friend, brought you toys as a gift — something she chose just for you.
